Experiment

The Foundry Arts Lab is a Test Kitchen for creating new work or exploring established repertoire through a new lens of the current moment. Experiments can be proposed by any artist or a partnership of artists. These partners can include established artistic ensembles or academic institutions. Foundry Arts will be partnering with artists and audiences throughout the world on collaborative creation and practices. Multiple collaborative workshops will be hosted over the year, expanding as demand and topical interests require and funding allows.

Michael Douglas Jones Writers’ Room

The Michael Douglas Jones Writers’ Room is a Compositional Collaboration Lab- a place where new work can be explored or developed through collaborative process. Composers and librettists are invited to work on their projects for a year. The work is developed first from an idea, then to musical/dramatic collaboration, and then to rehearsal of key moments, giving them a chance to work with singers, conductors, instrumentalists, directors, librettists, and dramaturges. The work is presented on a rotating basis.

Applications will be accepted in Fall 2021

drömseminariaum

Current Experiment drömseminariaum is a new work created through collaborative means. Drömseminarium is currently in preparation for a premiere in Trondheim, Norway in 2022. Click here to get a glimpse into the piece, and the process of creating it.

Rep Lab

Rep Lab is a space for experimentation and exploration of established Repertoire through a focus on working collaboratively. Working on a piece in Replab gives artists an opportunity to do a deep dive into a piece over an extended period of time, allowing for a deep familiarity with the work, as well as a marketable credit or concrete, sellable concept.

Applications for Replab will be accepted in the Fall of 2021
