Meet Our Artists

Maestro Timothy G. Long served as assistant conductor to Robert Spano at the Brooklyn Philharmonic and conducted the orchestra for their 9/11 Memorial Concert in October of 2001. He was associate conductor at New York City Opera for two years. Bridge Records recently released Mr. Long’s first recording as conductor and pianist, The Music Teacher, a play/opera by Wallace and Allen Shawn. He is a member of the Thlopthlocco Tribal Town of the Creek Nation of Oklahoma. During the 2007-08 season his operatic conducting engagements included Jake Heggie’s Dead Man Walking at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Don Pasquale at Opera Colorado, Madame Butterfly at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and Ariadne auf Naxos at Wolf Trap Opera. Engagements: Boston Lyric Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Opera Colorado, Utah Opera, Tulsa Opera, Pacific Opera Victoria, Aspen Music Festival, Moab Music Festival, Oregon Bach Festival, Prague Summer Nights Festival, Oklahoma City Philharmonic. Marcie Friedman Recent/favorite opera credits: New York City Opera, Prototype Festival,  Sarasota Opera, Dayton Opera, Knoxville Opera, Central City Opera, Tulsa Opera. Selected theatre credits include work with Manhattan Theatre Club, Soho Rep, MCC Theater, Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, Westport Country Playhouse, Baltimore Center Stage and The Philadelphia Orchestra. Marcie is currently the resident PSM for Tri-Cities Opera, Lake George Dinner Theatre and a member of the stage management staff at Opera Colorado. 

Emily Okaah (she/her/hers) is a New York City-based Stage Director, Theater Producer, Pedagogue, Writer, and Contralto. Ms. Okaah is much sought after as a collaborator in the performing arts, particularly in Theater, Chamber Music, and as a teaching artist. Ms. Okaah’s passion for both artistic research and pedagogical creativity have led her to work with performing artists of all ages and skill levels, be it preschoolers or amateur nonagenarians, budding professional singers or international collaborators. As Director of New Projects at Foundry Arts, Ms. Okaah oversees KidLab and serves as the Lead Creative Producer for Unequal Temperament with Tim Long. Her most memorable directorial productions have included Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Handel’s Acis and Galatea, Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors, and Scarlatti’s La Giuditta. Highlights of her vocal performances include Bach’s St. John Passion (Alto), Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater (Aalto), Britten’s Rape of Lucretia (Bianca), and, of course, Handel’s Messiah (Alto). Ms. Okaah’s singing has been described by the New York Times as “commandingly agile,” and is renowned for both her tender expressivity and “rich, burnished” timbre (concerto.net.com). Ms. Okaah holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from The Manhattan School of Music.

Robert Signom III has been working in Production for over fifteeen years. As Production Manager, he has worked for Opera Saratoga, Gotham Chamber Opera, The Ensemble Studio Theatre, HERE Arts Center, Ideal Glass Gallery, and New Jersey Performing Arts Center, as well as The Civilians and Waterwell. Rob has worked on over 75 productions, concerts and industrials in New York and regionally with Frankie Valli, Jackie Mason, Susan Sarandon, Bruce Springsteen, Jack Nicholson, Toni Morrison, Yogi Berra, Buzz Aldrin, They Might Be Giants, and many others. Rob is on the Board of Directors of The Citizens’ Motorcar Company, America’s Packard Museum, as well as a member of Packard Automobile Classics, the Classic Car Club of America, First Presbyterian Church, and The Players’. He is also an Eagle Scout and a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. His wife, Penelope Thomas is an Actress and Singer from Toronto, Ontario.
